The Garam Dapur Project was established during the pandemic as a way for fellow artists to keep each other's spirits up, use their imagination to generate income together, and provide positive creative activities for the neighborhood children.

The project began with all the artists working together on a single painting entitled 'Harmony' based on a Japanese creation myth.

Making terracotta masks with the neighborhood kids and sharing meals cooked over an open fire then expanded to teaching terracotta to students at Green School and then to classes for school kids throughout Bali.

Many of the GARAM DAPUR PROJECT artists had previously worked with TITIAN ART SPACE supporting young Balinese artists in their creative pursuits, expanding their perspectives and practices, and promoting Balinese contemporary art more broadly.

Garam Dapur Project includes hosting Pintu Saren's Sunday Open House and participating in collaborative labs along with a host of other creative endeavors including using recycled paper as canvas, and most recently launching ASHBAK a line of unique ashtrays.

GARAM DAPUR PROJECT's income-generating activities include launching GARAM DAPUR ART STORE with plans to expand its offerings soon.
